CERES Presents Fat Canary Journal

Hey, it looks like I’m getting my artwork done for this group show in NYC at Ceres Gallery!

“Ceres Gallery is a feminist, not-for-profit, alternative gallery in New York City, dedicated to the promotion of contemporary women in the arts”.

And, what an amazing gathering of women artists, truly an honor for me.

If you would like to get a sense of the various artist’s work and statements, please peruse the digital catalog here.

If the other artists are like me (regarding the photos of their work for the catalog), the pieces may not be the same as what you’ll see of May 21st in the gallery, because we keep making new work. You will get a great sense of the diversity of styles and subject matter from reading the catalog.

My new work draws from this past year’s bird drawings.

I haven’t been good at sticking with any theme, in any one body of work. However, I think this set of bird-inspired sculpture is the closest I’ve come to a theme yet.

I’m curious about your thoughts and impressions.
