Why would you read about this?

Because you can’t wait to hear more about my vacation.

This exhibit: is over. I missed it. I missed this awesome group exhibit in NYC that I was actually IN; recommended to be in by a member artist of the CERES Gallery (Virginia Mallon).

How could I have missed seeing it?

I knew I wouldn’t make the opening because I had long standing plans to join friends for a cycling reunion.

On the flight home (quite certain now) Dan and I got COVID. We tested +, we took the paxlovid (because it seemed prudent), and we got the paxlovid rebound. I think it could have been much worse without it.

Now, let me resume documenting our time in London.

We were not allowed to take photos of the indoor exhibition - which I thought was astounding: Webs of Life

The TATE Modern

Susan Sontag’s quote opened “Capture the Moment” at the Tate Modern. Dan and I were there in person on our second day in London. It was a great show for me to see because there were works of art that I had never seen - some by artists who’s works I’ve always wanted to see, and other artist’s work that I am familiar with, but pieces I’d never see before.

The amazing Susan Sontag. I only knew of Susan Sontag because i worked for Lauren Ewing in the 80’s. I barely knew who Lauren was. I became her studio assistant at Rutgers (Mason Gross). Was I taking a class? I can’t recall. Then I moved to NYC in 1984, and she invited me to work for her. Lauren was tremendously encouraging and supportive - to everyone, not just me. I have always loved her art work, admire her intellect and the way she simply enjoys life . Lauren Ewing
